Musk buys twitter?
After taking a 9.2% shareholding and refusing a position on the board, he's offered 54 USD per share valuing it at 40bn USD and says if they don't accept he will sell his shares.

Either way he makes money. If they refuse, they will need to find another buyer for more money which means his shares go up in value before he sells.

Twitter employees are having a complete meltdown, he even suggested turning the Twitter HQ into a refuge for homeless people.

Cos an establishment stooge who faked a car ride in space is gonna crush the establishment and return to us the notion of freedom of speech?

Rios, you're taking your eye off the globalist ball mate.

Elon will help introduce all the digital ID agenda and all other ploys to help bring all those who were once opposed to it all onside, just like Trump was used to bring everyone not subscribed to the neo-commie corporate agenda onside, now in America they have two factions with the same end goal, Step One CovAIDs, Step Two WWIII all leading to the top of the ladder 4th industrial corporate communist revolution etc.

You always tell me I've got the wrong end of the stick just because of who is so deeply entrenched in the communist marxist philosophy, and I need to keep on reminding you that to oppose marxism with it's ugly twin zionism, isn't exactly an answer with a good result for any living creature on God's great Earth.

Especially when they both only will lead to the same end game.

Elon will flip it for a vast profit. Can’t see the shareholders complaining too much.

I'm not really offering anything other than smirking at the reaction its causing.

Musk is a very odd fish who I do not trust, but he is also an absolute shitlord at winding up the left

Pretty much everybody knows that, but he's still a trolly with a loose wheel, especially when he's on the gear and upsets everybody - he still amuses me.

Anyway, staff meeting called for 5pm so I guess there will be news.

As strange a fish as Elon is he's obviously his own person. Must be a frightening existence when you have absolutely anyone doing well for themselves as part of some shadowy global conspiracy. Some of you need professional help for paranoia

Nobody is saying Musk is chief lizard or grand buffalo, he's a smart engineer and a very canny investor, but look at how Tesla makes its money, its all based on taxpayer subsidy.

Shareholder Saudi Prince Bin Alweed (or somesuch) has rejected the offer and possibly thwarted the opportunity for the world's first social media giant to be owned by an African-American.

Fucking racist cunt.

Elon will go to the market and buy up the stock. 1000 different ways to skin a PLC. Either way. It’s win, win for Elon.

Millennial Meltdown

He’s probably made $200 billion off twitter so it makes sense to own it. Like owning the sun the times and sky.

This way he controls his narrative on his favourite medium.

Not such a loose cog, I think.

He buys it then shuts it down for a month to re-engineer it.

SM addicts will go somewhere else until the relaunch, at which point he will clean up. Or is that not allowed?

Re: Musk buys twitter?
Won't be the first phenomenal businessman to lose money because he let his heart rule his head. Twitter is massively overpriced and in decline. The decline will speed up dramatically when the left boycott it....and boy do they know how to boycott things.

It's also a bit sad how many see Musk as a saviour. He isn't. He is a genius, I love his view of government and how markets should work, but he won't save the people looking to him for saving.

out of 1.4 million tweets quoting the hashtag #TSLA posted in the last decade, 23% were bot-generated. Each time one of 186 Tesla-related bot accounts’ was created, a 2% rise in Tesla’s stock price followed. Other bots served a similar purpose for tech stocks in general, with Apple and Amazon benefiting greatly. Still, bots for these two companies were not playing a boosterish role, unlike the Tesla bots, which enabled Musk to sell equity while his company haemorrhaged $5.7 billion.

From the BBC, things are moving on?

Twitter's shares rose by more than 5% in pre-market trade on speculation the firm could agree a takeover deal with Elon Musk as early as Monday.

The board of the social media giant is reported to have met with Mr Musk over the weekend to discuss his $43bn offer.

Twitter had initially rebuffed Mr Musk's approach.

But according to reports, Twitter is now in the final stages of negotiations with Mr Musk to buy the business.

Share trading in Twitter's stock, before the US stock market opened, sent the price up 5.1% to $51.57. Although it is still below Mr Musk's offer price of $54.20 a share.

Reuters, the news agency, reported that an announcement may come later on Monday after the Twitter's board has met and recommended a deal to its shareholders.

Mr Musk's targeting of Twitter has moved at remarkable speed. It emerged at the beginning of April that Mr Musk, who is the boss of electric carmaker Tesla, had become the largest shareholder in Twitter with a 9.2% stake.

He was then invited to join Twitter's board but turned down the offer before launching a surprise bid for the company on 14 April.

Twitter responded by putting in place a so-called "poison pill" defence to fend off Mr Musk. The mechanism would have created difficulties for Mr Musk if he attempted to increase his stake in the company.

The board now appears to have U-turned after Mr Musk revealed he had lined up a $46.5bn financing package for his offer - with funding from a mixture of his own assets and the backing of Wall Street banking giant Morgan Stanley and other firms.

Mr Musk recently said that he believes that Twitter should be more open and transparent. "I think it's very important for there to be an inclusive arena for free speech," he told the TED2022 conference in Vancouver.

Thrivent Asset Management, a US-based shareholder in both Twitter and Tesla, appeared to welcome a takeover by Mr Musk.

Fund manager Lauri Brunner told the Wall Street Journal: "He has an established track record at Tesla. He is the catalyst to deliver strong operating performance at Twitter."
